Liborio

Liborio was written by Luis Terror Días, one of the most influential figures in modern Dominican music. Known for blending folk traditions, rock, merengue, and Caribbean rhythms, he devoted much of his work to Dominican history, identity, and popular culture. The song tells the story of Liborio Mateo, a healer and religious leader from the Dominican Republic who became a legendary figure in the early twentieth century. After surviving a hurricane and withdrawing into the mountains, Liborio attracted followers who regarded him as a spiritual leader. Following his death in 1922, his story entered Dominican folklore, where he remains a symbol of faith, resistance, and popular devotion. This performance is an English adaptation of the song. My goal was not to translate every line literally, but to bring the story of Liborio to English-speaking listeners while preserving the spirit of the original. This performance is presented with voice and acoustic guitar. Song: Liborio Written by: Luis Terror Días English adaptation: Jason Paul Performance: Jason Paul, voice & guitar
