“September in the Rain” was written in 1937 by Harry Warren (music) and Al Dubin (lyrics) for the Warner Bros. film Melody for Two. The song quickly became a standard, performed by many jazz and pop greats. One of the most famous versions came from Dinah Washington, while Frank Sinatra gave it his swing treatment. Even The Beatles performed the tune at their 1962 Decca audition.
