Don’t Fence Me In

“Don’t Fence Me In” was written in the 1930s by Cole Porter, adapting a poem by Montana engineer Robert Fletcher. Though Porter was famous for sophisticated Broadway songs, this cowboy tune became one of his most surprising and enduring hits. The song took off in 1944 when Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters recorded their smash version. Later, Roy Rogers and many others made it a country-western standard. Here, Jason Paul performs “Don’t Fence Me In” with acoustic guitar and voice, offering a stripped-down interpretation of this wide-open classic. 👉 Q: Did you know Cole Porter wrote country too?
