God Bless America
“God Bless America” was written in 1918 by Irving Berlin while serving in the U.S. Army at Camp Upton. Berlin put the song aside, then revised and published it in 1938. That year, Kate Smith introduced the song on Armistice Day during a live radio broadcast, and it became an immediate sensation – soon called America’s “second national anthem.” Here, Jason Paul performs “God Bless America” with acoustic guitar and voice, offering a stripped-down version of Berlin’s patriotic masterpiece. 👉 Q: Did you know Irving Berlin wrote this in 1918?
