{c: Verse 1}
God [Am]rest you merry, gentlemen, let [F]nothing you dis[E7]may
For [Am]Jesus Christ our Saviour was [F]born upon this [E7]day
To [Dm]save us all from [C]Satan's pow'r when [Am]we were gone a[G]stray

{c: Chorus}
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy, comfort and [G]joy
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy

{c: Verse 2}
From [Am]God our heavenly Father a [F]blessed angel [E7]came
And [Am]unto certain shepherds brought [F]tidings of the [E7]same
How [Dm]that in Bethle[C]hem was born the [Am]Son of God by [G]name

{c: Chorus}
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy, comfort and [G]joy
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy

{c: Verse 3}
The [Am]shepherds at those tidings re[F]joiced much in [E7]mind
And [Am]left their flocks a-feeding in [F]tempest, storm and [E7]wind
And [Dm]went to Bethle[C]hem straightway this [Am]blessed Babe to [G]find

{c: Chorus}
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy, comfort and [G]joy
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy

{c: Verse 4}
But [Am]when to Bethlehem they came where[F]at this Infant [E7]lay
They [Am]found Him in a manger where [F]oxen feed on [E7]hay
His [Dm]mother Mary [C]kneeling un[Am]to the Lord did [G]pray

{c: Chorus}
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy, comfort and [G]joy
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy

{c: Verse 5}
Now [Am]to the Lord sing praises, all [F]you within this [E7]place
And [Am]with true love and brotherhood each [F]other now em[E7]brace
This [Dm]holy tide of [C]Christmas all [Am]other doth de[G]face

{c: Chorus}
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy, comfort and [G]joy
O [C]tidings of [E7]comfort and [Am]joy
