Night and Day
“Night and Day” was written in 1932 by Cole Porter for the Broadway musical Gay Divorce, later adapted into the Fred Astaire film The Gay Divorcee. The song’s hypnotic lyric and unusual harmony made it an instant classic, and it soon became one of the most recorded standards in the Great American Songbook. The tune was especially beloved by Frank Sinatra, who first recorded it in 1942 with the Harry James band and revisited it many times throughout his career. Here, Jason Paul performs “Night and Day” with acoustic guitar and voice, offering a stripped-down interpretation of this timeless Porter classic. 👉 Was “Night and Day” Sinatra’s favorite song?
