Estate was written in 1960 by Bruno Martino and Bruno Brighetti. First released in Italy, the song gradually became one of the most admired compositions in the modern Italian songbook and later entered the international jazz repertoire. Over time it has been recorded by artists including João Gilberto, Chet Baker, Shirley Horn, Toquinho, and Bruno Martino himself. Among Italian songs that crossed into the jazz world, Estate occupies a special place. Its melancholy melody and atmosphere have attracted musicians from well beyond its original context, helping it become a modern standard. This performance is presented with voice and acoustic guitar.
